Just like the Summer Games in Tokyo six months earlier, the Games were different. All participants took tests every day and wore masks when not competing. The competitions also had no audience.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we moved Sweden Arena to a digital format. This change helped ensure everyone's safety and well-being while allowing us to continue sharing valuable knowledge and insights and creating a home at home in Stockholm for Swedish Olympians, Swedish fans, and fans of Sweden

During the Summer Olympics in Beijing Sweden Arena offered a range of lectures and seminars related to SOC's activities, as well as the UN's Global Goals 3, 5, and 12. These inspiring sessions were conducted in collaboration with our partners and cooperating organizations.

Sweden arena goes digital

Our focus this year was digital, with lots of interesting seminars in a studio setting. We hosted our Swedish Olympians and medalists Nils Van Der Poel, Team Hasselborg, Team Edin and Maja Dahlqvist, partners, seminar participants and more!

Planning is everything

BANG Agency with Paulina Levin-Ander in the lead has managed and planned our live broadcasts together with our technology supplier. Bang has created schedules, vignettes, nameplates and has kept up with the extensive preparatory work required to be able to deliver a professional production.

Strong Women talks about leadership

There are far too few female leaders in elite sports. In a conversation between Ulrika Sandmark, Karin Torneklint, and Sara Wiggberg, the question is how sports can retain and attract women to invest in a career as a leader and coach with a focus on elite sports.

Swedish women's hockey

After years of challenges with, among other things, resources, Swedish ice hockey is now gathering strength to increase the number of girls and women's players. In a conversation with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association (SIF), SDHL, and the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK), have put together a long-term investment in young women's players.

It's about making it easy to do the right thing

WWF, SOK, Genpep, and the Swedish Sports Federation all have a common ambition that the sports environment should be healthy, strengthening, and sustainable. And so should the kiosks and cafeterias that offer energy to children and young people at sports facilities.

Sports and climate

The big issue of Sports and Climate was raised in Sweden Arena by researchers from KTH and other universities, a silver medalist from the Olympics in Tokyo 2021, RF, and participants from Beijing via the IOC who all in KTH's Climate Action Center discussed the challenges we face.

Towards new heights

We had a nice visit from Henrik Harlut and Jesper Tjäder who both won a bronze medal in China.

Sports and human rights

Should major sporting events be organized in dictatorships and countries that do not take human rights into account? What power does Sweden have to influence large international federations and organizations?

Cross Country star with triple medals

Maja Dahlqvist visited Sweden Arena with her three medals. Direct from Arlanda to Discovery and then to Sweden Arena. There were about 20 invited children from local ski clubs in Stockholm at the celebration

Sweden Arena moves to Arlanda

Sweden Arena is Sweden's national house, and there we celebrate our successes! So we quickly established a temporary arena at Arlanda Airport when our Olympians came home.
